Survived!Essentially Me

Well, I survived possibly the worst cold/flu in history. At least in MY history. It’s still not completely over, but at least I’m functioning. I spent the entire holiday weekend in bed alternating Nyquil with Advil and probably went through 3 packages of completely useless cough drops in the process. I’ve completely lost my voice, much to the pleasure of the rest of my family. I’ve had to put off several client calls and a radio interview (sorry, Dave!) because of the lack of sound coming from my mouth. The voice is finally coming back today - won’t my family be disappointed! ha.

I wanted to get my garden planted this past weekend, but that didn’t happen either. I did get some of it in a little at a time, as much as I could tolerate. It took the all of my energy to get the carrots, onions, radishes, tomatoes, beans and cucumbers in. I still have to plant the watermelon, cantaloupes, broccoli, rhubarb and snap peas yet…but it’s getting there and should be done by this afternoon, I’m hoping. It was pretty pathetic, though. I ventured out on Sunday to try and plant things - and I got three tomato plants in the ground before I felt like passing out.

Thanks to my very good friend, Tom - who happens to be a physician, I did get my hands on some of the good stuff that I’ve been taking for the past 4 days and things seem to be getting back to normal. Because of it, I do owe him an afternoon of boating, fishing and beer - but it’s a small price to pay in order to rejoin the land of the living.

Oh yea, I finally just upgraded this blog to WordPress v. 2.2 - things seem to have gone swimmingly. If you happen to notice anything wonky - put a bug in my ear, would ya? Thanks!

Char at Essential Keystrokes does a really nice and helpful feature every week called “Essential Tools” which highlights tools people use for success in their day to day lives that help them with productivity, organization and getting the job done. She’s featured some great people and put the spotlight on some really useful tools.

Char features a new person every Wednesday and if you haven’t read Char’s Essential Tools features - there is no time like the present! Especially because this week’s feature is yours truly - what more reason do you need? Plus - in this weeks feature, I reveal a little known secret about myself…coming out of the closet, so to speak. Just when you thought you knew everything. Heh.
